Curriculum Transition Arrangements

The new Health Outdoor and Physical Education Framework and the revised courses under the Framework will be implemented from 2026 for all year eleven and twelve students. All courses are registered for ten years.

Sports Development/ Athlete Development

Students who completed units in Sports Development A/T/M in 2025 may combine this with units from Athlete Development A/T/M completed in 2026 to form a course in Athlete Development A/T/M, provided there is not significant duplication of content.

Health and Wellbeing/ Public Health

Students who completed units in Health and Wellbeing A/T/M in 2025 may combine this with units from Public Health A/T/M completed in 2026 to form a course in Public Health A/T/M, provided there is not significant duplication of content.

Exercise Science

Students who completed units in Exercise Science A/T/M (end date 2025) in 2025 may combine this with units from the new Exercise Science A/T/M completed in 2026 to form a course in Exercise Science A/T/M, provided there is not significant duplication of content.

Physical Education Studies

Students who completed units in Physical Education Studies A/M (end date 2025) in 2025 may combine this with units from the new Physical Education Studies A/M completed in 2026 to form a course in Physical Education Studies A/M, provided there is not significant duplication of content.

Minor Variations

Outdoor Recreation A/M/V and Outdoor and Environmental Education A/T/M had minor variations approved and have been extended in line with other courses under the Framework.

Health Science A/T/M will be available concurrently with Human Biology A/T/M in 2025 and then replace that course in 2026.

Students who completed units in Human Biology A/T/M in 2024 may combine these with units from Health Science A/T/M completed in 2025 to form a course in Health Science A/T/M, provided there is no significant duplication of content.

Where schools continue Human Biology A/T/M, students who complete units in 2025 may combine these with units from Health Science A/T/M when completed in 2026 to form a course in Health Science A/T/M, provided there is no significant duplication of content.

Bridging Literacy A/M and Bridging Numeracy A/M will be available for teaching from the beginning of 2025.

Contemporary English A/M and Contemporary Mathematics A/M will be phased out by the conclusion of 2025.

Contemporary English A/M

Transition Arrangement for Contemporary English A/M to Bridging Literacy A/M

Students who completed units in Contemporary English A/M in or prior to 2025 may combine these, upon meeting eligibility requirements, with units from Bridging Literacy A/M to form a course in Bridging Literacy, provided there is no significant duplication of content.

Transition Arrangement for Contemporary English A/M to Essential English A/M

Students who completed units in Contemporary English A/M in or prior to 2025 may combine these with units from Essential English A/M to form a course in Essential English, provided there is no significant duplication of content.

Contemporary Mathematics A/M

Transition Arrangement for Contemporary Mathematics A/M to Bridging Numeracy A/M

Students who completed units in Contemporary Mathematics A/M in or prior to 2025 may combine these, upon meeting eligibility requirements, with units from Bridging Numeracy A/M to form a course in Bridging Numeracy, provided there is no significant duplication of content.

Students who completed units in Contemporary Mathematics A/M in or prior to 2025 may combine these with units from Essential Mathematics A/M to form a course in Essential Mathematics, provided there is no significant duplication of content.

Transition Arrangement for Senior Science A/M/V to Interdisciplinary Science A/M 

Students who complete units in Senior Science in 2025 may combine these with units in Interdisciplinary Science A/M completed in 2026 to form a course. Units from Senior Science A/M cannot be combined with units from Interdisciplinary Science T
