The operational requirements are:

• Students who complete units of study selected from both Media and Specialised Media may form a Studies of Media Minor, Major, Major Minor, or Double Major.
• Mapping of VET Competencies will be needed when combining units from the two Media courses to ensure Training Package requirements are met and that the CUA20220 Certificate II in Creative Industries qualification or Statement of Attainment can be achieved.
• One Independent Study unit may be included in this course. An Independent study unit
  can be proposed by an individual student for their own study and negotiated with their teacher. An Independent study unit requires the principal’s written approval. The program of learning for an Independent study unit must meet all the content descriptions as appears in the course. Independent study units are only available to individual students in Year 12. Pre-requisites for an Independent study unit are that students have completed at least THREE standard 1.0 units from Media and Specialised Media.
• There are no VET competencies attached to Independent Study units. VET competencies may be assessed where relevant to the focus of the unit. The competencies selected will need to align with the requirements of the Creative Arts and Culture Training Package Training Package (CUA) and to the competencies already completed during the course if students are to achieve the CUA20220 Certificate II in Creative Industries qualification or Statement of Attainment.
• Colleges must be aware of policies concerning transfer of units and whole courses (refer section 4.3.5.2.2 Units in Other Courses) to another course and policies relating to moderation scaling groups. (Refer section 5.4.1 Course Combination into Moderation Scaling Groups.)
• The above requirements must be clearly identified in student handbooks.
